Investigations have been carried for projects including: commercial and industrial developments; subdivisions and individual residential house sites; recognition and remediation of landslides and design of retaining structures. Ormiston Associates Ltd provide advice on a diverse range of foundation types in order to produce the most cost effective solution for each site. Stability advice and the design of remedial works have been undertaken for both shallow and deep seated slides. Slope stability has been assessed in conjunction with mining and quarrying operations throughout New Zealand, to provide appropriate advice for quarry layout and batter slope design. Members of staff have also provided expertise in the investigation and design of dams for water supply and hydroelectricity

Slip remediation and retaining of the road carriageway on SH25 near Kuotunu, Coromandel, utilising timber pole retaining in conjunction with Manta Ray Tie-Backs installed by Anchor Lok New Zealand Ltd.

Remediation of a large slope failure within greywacke soils on Waiheke Island utilising buttress drains. The slope was subsequently hydro-seeded and is standing successfully.
